Meet Our Team

Rome Mediation Group was formed in 2022. All members are registered and certified neutrals in the state of Georgia. Each one is an experienced and talented mediator with expertise ranging from: civil, domestic/family, real estate, landlord/tenant to construction, and collections. They have excelled in the courtroom (Superior and Magistrate) as well as the hardwood. All RMG mediators are experienced referees in basketball or soccer. Each mediator brings a pleasant patient attitude to every mediation along with a “knack” for discovering creative solutions with optimal outcomes.

On January 2, 2024 Danny Price joined the RMG Team. Danny serves as General Counsel for Berry College and brings a wealth of legal experience to the group. During his 32 years in practice, Danny has handled litigation and alternative dispute resolutions in many areas including personal injury, medical malpractice, employment and business-related disputes, construction and real estate, and trust and estate matters. William, Brooks, and Jim have a combined 40+ years of experience as mediators in the Rome Floyd Magistrate Court.

For cases and disputes requiring mediation — choose a mediator from our roster or we can help identify who will be the “best fit” for your case. You will find we are not only quick to respond, but also patient, creative, detail-oriented listeners, who work diligently to achieve positive settlement agreements.

Some clients even say we make mediation FUN!

RMG Advisors

For more complex cases, RMG engages Advisors with specific expertise and insight from other disciplines. Ansley Barton and Mark Webb have practiced law locally for 35+ years. Ansley specializes in Family law and has been a pioneer in training 100’s of Mediators. Mark still practices on the side, but retired from a prominent Rome firm in 2020. Joel Snider is a retired minister with forty years of pastoral experience.  He has served as a mediator and a conflict resolution specialist for churches in multiple denominations.

Ansley Barton ESQ.

Ansley Barton has been a true Pioneer and advocate for mediation in Georgia’s judicial system for 40+ years. In 1993, Ansley was Director of the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution. Since then, she has trained and certified 100’s of mediators. With the onset of Covid, Ansley retired from practicing Family law and training mediators. The 4-Day training curriculum RMG now uses to train mediators was graciously made available by Ansley. We are grateful for her contribution.

Our Role As Mediator

  • To actively listen to everyone’s grievances.

  • To allow all parties an opportunity to present their position and perspective. .

  • To be impartial and not takes sides, give legal advice, or make judgments.

  • To guide the participants through a collaborative problem-solving process during which participants develop solutions that meet their needs. All parties may co-exist in the same room, be divided into separate rooms, or conduct business via Zoom.

  • The mediator is not a Judge and does not make decisions or impose solutions on the dispute; rather facilitates honest, good faith, common sense approaches to problem solving.

  • Nor is the mediator an advocate or promote a specific outcome as “best”.
